Make a Difference Today
Esperance Roo Haven wants to spread our message of hope and compassion for each sentient being that is brought to our doors. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the saving of a life and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy and outreach activities, our team works tirelessly each day to contribute to the welfare and rescue and rehabilitation of our Native Wildlife

Who We Are
OUR ROOTS
It all started with a sincere passion for wildlife. I was given my first joey 17 years ago. The absolute joy of raising and releasing this tiny wild animal was all I needed to know , that this is what I had to do with the rest of my life. In 2009 I decided to open up a sanctuary...I just needed to get registered with DBCA. BHPBilliton sent me on a Rehabilitator's course and so this extensive learning journey began.
I met up with a like minded carer who was all ready caring for joey's in this region. Roslynne gave me my first two pinkies...and that was the start of our relationship as we dedicated our time money and resources to the welfare of wildlife.
We are licensed to do recoveries of Macropods, Raptors, Sea Birds, Seed and Fruit eating birds...
It keeps us busy and we never stop learning. We had another Sea Bird carer join our team. Michelle has been a great help in the rescue and recovery of our Sea Birds

REHABILITATION
Saving lives
It is always our intent to raise or help injured wildlife with the knowledge that they will be soft released once they are fully healed or of the correct age and weight as in the case of joey's. We partner up with other wildlife centers around Australia. We are there for one another with advice and a sharing of much needed knowledge in how best to care for the animal in our sanctuary.

Advocacy
We take our responsibility very serious. We work alongside DBCA the government body set aside for the Biodiversity and conservation of Flora and Fauna. Conservation and rehabilitation is at the heart of what we do.
Support
We have a unique system set up which we are only able to perform with the support and co-operation from other Wildlife centers. We take the pinkies who need around the clock care and need to be in a humidicrib we raise them and keep them until release weight and then they go on a 400Klm journey up to Goldfields Native Animal Care where they then oversea the soft release of joey's in a controlled cared for environment. Our bird release program is different for each species. It is a little more complicated certain rules have to apply. We have driven 800Klms many times to relocate a raptor and other macropods. Would'nt have it any other way
